Talented Dancers
We were treated to a dance performance from a group of students who recently had their end of year concert. Everyone enjoyed their enthusiastic dance moves and we were all very impressed with the practise that must have gone into learning all those moves. Well done Tallulah for your individual dance as well, you have a special talent and I am sure you will achieve what you set out to in the future.
Beach Visit
We are so lucky go have the sea at the end of our street so close to school. Rooms 5 and 6 walked down there today to get some inspiration for writing. Hopefully there will be some very super writinig from the students tomorrow.

Athletics Day
We did have to use the postponement day for the Junior Athletics this year because of the wet ground after heavy night falls of rain and very cold temperatures of only 12 degress. The delay was worth it because Thursday ended up fine. It was a very energetic 2 hours of running, jumping and throwing. For some children it is the highlight of the year and for others probably not so enjoyable. There was a great group of parents cheering everyone along which was great. Well done Room 5 children , you were all awesome.
Marae Visit
We had a very successful visit to the Rapaki Marae a few days ago. Unfortunately we ran out of time to take a group photot outside the lovely Wharenui. The Rooms 4 , 5 and 6 children were absolutely amazing during the visit and sang a beautiful waiata and performed a fabulous haka. Another highlight was the bus trip through the tunnel.

Hosting the Junior Team Aassembly
To do something well takes practise and Alex and Luca certainly practised with their scripts before they hosted the Junior Team assembly today. Congratulations to you both, you did a great job.
Fun Fridays
The most popular day of the week in Room 5 is Friday. We always start with Discovery in the morning. This week the children had a go making vegetable prints and practised some skipping skills ready for the Jump Rope for Heart this week. We were grateful to our buddies who came along to help us write some notes to go with the paper plate art collage we made as part of our Fairy Tale inquiry.
